OPENING DAY OF THE VOX PACIS MINI FESTIVAL
IN THE SOFIA CHURCH, STOCKHOLM

3 pm OPENING OF THE PHOTO EXHIBITION ”PAX AUREA”
VOX PACIS -– PEOPLE FROM 15 CULTURES MEETING IN WORK AND JOY

6.30 pm AN INTER-RELIGIOUS PRAYER led by The Rev. Anders
Hedman (Fryshuset Youth Center, Stockholm) together with representatives of the Jewish and the Muslim congregations in Stockholm.
Musicians: Arne Johansson (organ), Insula Magica ensemble (see below) and Debasis Mukherjee Master of tabla/drums, India.

8 pm CONCERT. Insula Magica, an ensemble from Novosibirsk, Siberia/Russia, together with Virpi Pahkinen, solo dancer from Finland/Sweden.

AUGUST 15th, Saturday
SOFIA CHURCH

3 pm CONCERT. A Coptic choir from Stockholm together with members of the Jewish ensemble Kvannanahe.

AUGUST 16th, Sunday
HÖGALID CHURCH

11 am MASS with soloist singers Anna-Lena Engström (”Ave Maria” by Verdi) and Gunnel Mauritzson, folksongs.

4 pm CONCERT. Insula Magica - the Siberian ensemble together with the Indian tabla player Debasis Mukherjee followed by Hindu/Sanskrit hymns and dances from India performed by Veronica Tjerned and sung by soloists Chime Arkhang from Tibet and Shipra Nandy from India.

AUGUST 17th, Monday
SOFIA CHURCH

5 pm MUSIC WORKSHOP. A workshop led by Dafna Dori from Israel and with participants from the Vox Pacis ensemble.

AUGUST 19th, Wednesday
SOFIA PARISH APARTMENT
BORGMÄSTARGATAN 11.

2 pm CAFETERIA, organized by Sofia Parish together with Vox Pacis.
The Israeli singer Dafna Dori will sing in Hebrew and in Arabic together with a Greek-Byzantine-Orthodox choir and Sami jojk singers Marie Kvernmo Valkeapää and Berit Alette Mienna.

1 pm LECTURE. ”POLTAVA 200 YEARS”
Anna Nedospasova, Novosibirsk, will lecture on the Swedish musician Gustav Blidström, a prisoner-of-war after the battle of Poltava, who wrote music during his imprisonment in Siberia.


3 pm CONCERT. ”ECHOES FROM POLTAVA”
performed by the ensemble Insula Magica and the duo Laude Novella.

8 pm CONCERT WITH THE GREEK-BYZANTINE-ORTHODOX
CHOIR AND SOLOIST DAFNA DORI FROM ISRAEL

AUGUST 23rd, Sunday

4 pm LECTURE. ”THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF DALAI LAMA”
A comparison between Buddhism in Tibet and Christianity in Europewith a focus on the Buddhist and the Christian theatre and opera respectively.
Lecturer Gunilla Nordlund with performing artist.

6 pm TREQ-GNAWA, sufi ensemble from Marocco together El-Tanora dance by Haitham El-Shewihi from Egypt and dervisch-dance by Osama Elias from Sudan.
